Blacksmith513
I bought my COC a few months back. the Trainer-2.5..... I haven't trained to serious with them yet, i hear they are tough on the tendons, so I'm easing into it. (MAYBE too slowly but I am making progress). I opened the 1.5 out of the package recently and to my surprise, I can close it almost as much as I can the 1. So I'm wondering if my problem is maybe technique? devinhoo
My problem starting out was technique. I almost feel like the set determines if I am going to close the gripper more than the difficulty of the gripper. Maybe try doing a few reps, then re-setting it? Rather than just trying to crank out reps from that first initial set.
Fist of Fury
#1 and #1.5 are very close in resistance and since every gripper is unique, the actual resistance varies. So they might have the exact same resistance.

Vinnie
My first 1 and 1.5 were so similar that I traded or gave away my 1 because it was like using the same gripper. And I agree about the set: I was always told how important the set was, and I always resisted working on setting -- but once I started working on it, I noticed a serious jump in my closes. I won't say who told me this, but he probably will lol.
