Mike Rinderle
Anybody out there doing any minimal wrap horseshoe bends anymore? I know that's big for short steel. @David_wigren, Andy Thomes, and I used to battle it out on minimal wrap shoes and braced bends with IMPs or a couple paper towels as wraps, but I don't think I've seen any in the last several years. As you can see below, it definitely adds some difficulty. Same shoe in IMPs vs 1.25" suede. Pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten it without the porn stache. BTW, just to toot my own horn, not many people have ever bent that shoe in any wraps. These were done 1 day apart in October of 2012.
zs242
Sometimes I do, mostly in IMP's. When I can bend a shoe few times with 1.25 leather I always try with IMP's too. My best at the moment a Kerckhaert DF 8x22 0. (I hope I can link properly, I am always in trouble with URL's) Kerckhaert DF 25x8 5 kink with a napkin:

Glad to see someone still working with minimal wraps!
Mike Rinderle
Of course, someone is going to have to go to great lengths to beat Cletus when it comes to minimal pad horseshoe bending... @David_wigren 2

First: This was Rindo, not Cletus. I heard no mentions of Murica, Swedish Fish, or chewin tobacca' Second: Look at all of that padding on your thigh! That's at least an eighth of an inch of polyester. I also think I see a sock stuffed in there. I'm gonna have to get back in to shoe bending so I can do a shoe in IMPs while wearing my man thong. Bare thigh or you may as well be wearing a suit of armor.
