Jedd Johnson
Date: June 8, 2019 - Titan Strength in Elmira, same location as 2018 Entry Form Based on votes and feedback here on the Gripboard, I have decided the events for the North American Championship this year. Thank you to everyone who put forth effort and opinions. Keep in mind, I am only competing if I can get to 105kg, when I post these events. 1. Silver Bullet - One Hand 2. Euro Two Hands Pinch 3. 2 3/8" Napalm's Nightmare - 6" Lift, stand on boxes if needed 4. 2.5" Jug - 6" Lift, stand on boxes if needed 5. Medley I took out the Wrist event in favor of a Vertical Grip, but there will be Wrist Testing Feats in the Medley, so bring your Wrist Strength A-game. More info to come. I just didn't want to keep people waiting anymore on the events. I will also list out the Medley items as soon as I can. Entry Form will be available as soon as possible as well. Thank you! 10

I don't have a wrist strength A-game, so I can't bring that. I will, however, bring the perfect height boxes to stand on ... that is key for me. But 6 " is a little easier than at Cupid's, I think; wasn't that higher? Anyway, nice event selection. I am really looking forward to doing silver bullet again with my bitch. Thanks for hosting!

Vinnie
That is a tough game against those Canadians. Maybe at least the U.S. Masters class will prevail, now that I will be in it to lift up the likes of Rindo ... oh wait ... he's lifting quite a bit already. But there are no Canadians over 50 in this sport anyway, right? So it's a lock then.

Mike Rinderle
Same as last year? Canada vs. US. Instead of picking teams for each event, I vote we take the top three in each event from each side. Reverse Strongman scoring. Lowest total wins. What say you?

Eric Roussin
This year there will once again be a team competition at the North American Grip Championship. There will be a Team Canada (defending champions) and a Team USA. For the first time, an annual award will be up for grabs that the winning team will take home, keep for a year, and return at the following year’s championship. I propose the following points system be used: Each country selects three athletes per individual event (Silver Bullet, Two-Hand Pinch, Napalm’s Nightmare, Jug, and Medley). A single athlete can be selected for no more than three events. Each event is scored using reverse strongman scoring (i.e. best performance earns one point, second best earns two points, etc.). Team totals are tallied from all of the events; lowest score wins. This will ensure that at least five competitors will earn points for the team, but there is an option to involve more. Plus, selecting teams adds a fun element of strategy. Tie-break would be done using the countback method. If the score is tied, the country with the most first place finishes would win. If you are planning on attending the contest, I’d like to hear if you support this idea.

Vinnie
I'm not really sure I care whether or how you do the team USA/Canada comp, and I have always hated the confusion that reverse strongman causes in my mind, but I am looking forward to this quite a bit. And that medley looks fun. I won't get 20 points on it, but I'll have fun seeing how close I can get!
Vinnie
And yeah, not too likely that I'll be the team rep on any of the events, although I guess that depends to some extent on who else is going to be there. Again, not important to me, happy just to see how I do against myself!
