Andrew Dube
I was wondering if anyone had any experience or information on this feat? I searched the forum and only found references to a few doing it. I read about it in John Brookfield's book and thought it would be a great feat in a strongman show. Some of the specifics I'm looking for are: 1. How is it set up? John mentions putting a nut between the jaws. I imagine the less the handles open the easier it is like closing a choked gripper. But maybe that's not the case. 2. How hard is it? Obviously the quality of the pliers would be a factor. Anyone have an idea of equivalent rgc rating?
Josh O'Dell
I have never thought of this, may have to try it out.
Paul Markowski
The great Wrestler Danny Hodge used to break pliers on a daily basis for his fans.
Fist of Fury
I don't understand how this is done, is there a video of it somewhere?
Paul Markowski
Usually, you put a nut or bolt in the pliers mouth....then, just squeeze it til the handles snap off. I will try and find a video of it...

Wasn't too fond of the sudden release of pressure and fingers smashing into each other when the handles broke. So I only did it a few times. It is visually impressive though and onlookers are bound to be impressed by your broken fingers.
paul valpreda
Were the pliers broken with one hand like holding a gripper?
Fist of Fury
I get it now Seems like a risky thing to do.
wobbler
If you want to shock all the tendons in your hands for some reason, just cut up some wire coat hangers with dull end nippers.

I do remember that there was a brand (don't remember what it was though) that I couldn't budge at all. This was when I was MMS closing mid-180lbs RGC grippers. Alawadhi
I did it long time ago. As what big Steve says, some are very hard and some are easier. Some bend and others get broken.
