Jose Cabrera Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Hi guys, I'm sure some of you have an RB adjustable. I wanted to ask for some opinions and facts on it, i am thinking of buying one, is it worth it? I had a vulcan and it was nothing like a normal TSG. Is the RB more similar to normal grippers? How accurate are the ratings estimates? How aggressive is the knurling; i like rough knurling. Thank you in advance for any answers. Quote
Fist of Fury Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 It's not comparabe to a TSG. Harder sweep but not as hard at the close as a TSG. The knurling on the two I have is smooth. If you already have the vulcan I don't really see a reason for you to get the RBA. Unless you want to get a modified one. There's some options available, like textured and extended handle. Filed handle for BTR. Quote
Jose Cabrera Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Oh ok so its similar to a vulcan, i traded mine for that reason. Not like a TSG. Edited November 22, 2015 by Jose Cabrera Quote
HandsMcHanderson Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 It's closer to a Vulcan than it is a TSG. I think it has carryover but still tend to train more with grippers if that is my goal (which currently it is). If your goal is grippers I'd say spend the money on a rated gripper from CPW in whatever range you are needing (and a goal gripper or 2). Quote Grip Goals CCS #3 CoC Stay consistent!
Jose Cabrera Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Cool, I have a bunch of grippers, just want to downsize. Edited November 22, 2015 by Jose Cabrera Quote

I prefer my torsion spring grippers so I have not been using much my Rb adjustable. The feel is not exactly the same as TSG but the spread is about the same vs the Vulcan which is much wider. There is a thread here with the rgc estimates. Let me find it. The knurling is like any RB gripper I believe, it's not as rough as ghp or Tetting. I recommend it if you only want to have one gripper and you respond well to progressive loading gripper workouts. But again I enjoy working more wiht TSG so if it was me I would rather have maybe 4-5 TSG instead.Just curious how many grippers do you currently have? Quote youtube channel, instagram
Evan Raftopoulos Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 here it is http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=44253&p=637886 I admit that I liked this gripper more when I was training more with it. You know sometimes the more you use something the more you like it :P 1 Quote youtube channel, instagram
Cannon Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 We also have a chart on the CPW product page: http://cannonpowerworks.com/products/baraban-adjustable-handgripper Quote
Jose Cabrera Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Thanks for the info Evan, i have a good spread of grippers im just tryin to go minimal with equipment. I just wanted ppls opinions before buying it. Im still on the fence about it. Mostly wondering if the ratings data is jumpy or not. Metal variance is my worst enemy. Thanks Matt. Quote

You can micro load with rubber bands. I have not felt the need to do so yet but I guess the higher up you go it becomes more useful. Quote

If you were closer I'll let you borrow mine to try it out. Maybe see if anyone close to you has it? I also have the one with the extended handle and the finger grooves which I used a bit more often but I think that one was too expensive for what it is. Quote youtube channel, instagram
