Forearm Injury

Hey. For the last 8-9 months I've had a problem with my right forearm, which started after I started to train with grippers. (I think). I do strength training too and have not taken a break yet, but I haven't used grippers for around 6 months. The problem is this: when I put my hand around something (like a bar, pole, handle etc.) and squeeze hard it feels fine. But the moment I let go (granted I do it fast), then I have some pain in my forearm close to the wrist. The more open my hand is when I squeeze (ie. the thicker the bar), the more it hurts. It only hurts if I let go fast, not slow, and only for 2-3 secs.

I should probably see a physiotherapist, but I'm just wondering if any of you have had this before, and what might have caused it?

If I were in your situation, I would take a week or two off and then try the motion that caused the pain like before. If the pain has lessened then it means that you just need to rest more and heal whatever it is you might have injured. But, considering you have had it for months I am assuming you have taken a break of some length without the pain alleviating. Since the pain is persisting it may mean something else

If it's been 8-9 months, you need to see a physician.

I'm new to the game, but this kind of thing happened to me the first few weeks to a mild degree. Once I started letting go of the grippers more slowly between reps, it went away. Now, I still let go slowly just to be safe, unless it's a warmup set with the trainer or something.

I know I hate aeeing doctors but 9 month is a lot. You can try taking one week off and then try wrist extensors maybe it will help. Do low weight high reps.

If it didn't get well see a doc. Anyway that's what I'll do
