PeterSweden Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Anyone seen any benefits of training with a silver bullet other than getting strong at holding the bullet? Will it help me close heavier grippers? Quote Grip goals for 2016 - we'll see how many of these I can cross off; Grippers; Cert GHP7, CCS 140, 146, 153 and 157lbs CoC3, MMS and 20mmBS 180lbs CoC3,5. Pinch; Clean 20kg blockweight, curl 20kg blockweight, 1h euro pinch 45kg.
Juha Harju Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I trained sb holds with #4 and #3.5 + 20kg extraweight hanging at bullet. After Vano said that sb holds are for weak I tried his methods (#3.5 ovetcrushed 17sec handles together). Both ways are good for gripper working. Jedd Johnson Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I've seen very little carryover each way, myself. I believe in specificity. 2 Quote The GOLD STANDARD Feat in Plate Pinching: 2x45s Pinch Get Your Copy Here: How to Pinch 2x45s Ebook Diesel Crew Store: http://www.dieselcrew.com/store/shop
climber511 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 The hard part of the close is never reached using the SB so I would imagine it would have limited carry over - but the only way to truly know is to try it. 1 Quote When people used to ask him how it was he became so incredibly strong, it was always the same, "strengthen your mind, the rest will follow". John McCarter Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 One word, specificity. If you want to get better at gripper closes, focus on the final part of the gripper. 2 Quote "You have to want it more than anything else in your whole life...you gotta want it that bad." - Slim "The Hammer Man" Farman
jvance Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 It's helped me, I do light sessions and vary my set distances before placing the SB. The 20mm distance is the crucial transition after the CCS, where the pinkie wraps fully and the hand prepares to finish the close. Isos in this position after setting with the card has enhanced my strength to the level of an average 3. Quote Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/JVance0001?feature=mhee
