william
Has anyone had success training with the Silvis adjustable grippers? I love the idea of them, and own a few, but I haven't used them much. I found them to feel more difficult then their (estimated) ratings indicated. As another recent post mentioned, they seem to bind more then other torsion-spring grippers at the close. Has anyone done consistent weeks of workouts with them as a main gripper? I'm wondering if I should give them a more serious go...
Squeezus
I just bought a T-Rex and the Beyond the Range handle to train my over-crush, but I have been too busy with certifications and meet prep to practice with them. I feel like they will be pretty valuable tools. And yes, at the shortest practical handle length, the gripper feels like it is rated above 150lbs. william
I find Silvis to be deceivingly hard at the close. Do you think that's because of something about the spring geometry, or what? And have you trained with them much? What were the results?

Do you think that's because of something about the spring geometry, or what? And have you trained with them much? What were the results? it's almost certainly down to the spring geometry! What I have done with mine is tweak it until I can only just shut it, and I plan on moving it 1mm at a time as it becomes easier to close, so I always have a challenge that I'm not a million miles from It's a good gripper to have, means you can constantly test yourself without having to own dozens of grippers.

Do you think that's because of something about the spring geometry, or what? And have you trained with them much? What were the results? I have trained with them a lot! The results were great and I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it's more about programming than the actual gripper used. It's just that I was able to use the Silvis to microload in a way that is not possible with a regular TSG. I think Silvis is great for reps training because the knurl is forgiving, they are narrow, and hard at the close.
