kwakamoto
Hi for some reason my Hercules gripper has only got a single set of pins and there is significant play in the handles. Is this an earlier model? Can I reduce the play? Also on my tetting grippers the springs paint is really crappy is there any point painting them up? Evan Raftopoulos
I don't think it's an earlier model. Don't worry the handles are not going anywhere.

Cannon
The earliest Hercules have 2 pins in each handle. But Warren would burn through drill bits like crazy so he took a shot at gluing them. There are only a small handful of glued Tettings out there. Then he went to one pin in each handle. You can fix it with a really thin piece of metal. Like a staple or smaller. Just cram it in the top where the spring goes in. Then use a nail punch to tap it in. Then clip it off. The springs are not painted. Don't paint them. Just oil.
