Juha Harju
Gentlemen, I know that people are very busy nowdays. But as long as we organize contests and compete, buy new expensive grip tools every year for NAGS contests it would be nice that top50 list will be updated too. There are newcomers who has competed 1st time and did results in top50 list. It is BIG thing for them to get in this list. If we want to see these faces in future competitions too (KING KONG, World Of Grip etc...) it´s important to update their results. Thanks, Juha Harju
climber511
Juha - have the results been sent to Andrew Pantke? It is the responsibility of the promoter to send them directly to Andrew for entry. It is part of the sanctioning process and rules for NAGS List entry.
Andrew P
Juha, I've been trapped on the road for my work the better part of the last three weeks. And this last trip out my laptop decided to break. It's been extramly frustrating running FBBC and my day job from an I-phone. I'm flying home this weekend I'm going to get caught up on a lot of things and the NAGS update is on the list. Mikael Siversson
The actual competition rules are not specific to North America but are embraced by eg Brits, Swedes and Finns. Records in the NAGS lists are referred to as 'World Records' or ' Class Records'. If, as a purely hypothetical example, the Finns and eg Swedes decide to run their own Scandinavian records lists (supremely updated the day after competitions), using the same rules as NAGS, the NAGS 'World Records' may in some cases not be worth the paper they are written on. Who wants to hold a 'class world record' on the NAGS list if they know some Scandinavian has beaten them using exactly the same rules? Pissing off non-North American competitors and organisers with mildly condescending remarks (again a purely hypothetical scenario) might not be the way forward, especially not if NAGS wants to maintain legitimacy of 'world records'. Andrew P
Scores are loaded they need to be reviewed and released. In all honesty if my work life balance does not get any better real soon I'm going to have to give up on loading scores for contests other than my own. Mikael Siversson
I used to do all this on my own loading all results and maintaining lists (before Aaron put the together the excellent NAGS lists). It is time consuming for sure. Maybe part of the competition fees could go directly to a designated uploading person (with sufficient spare time) as it is time consuming. For example $10 per competitor or something similar. That would be significantly more than $20 in total. There is now a mother load of events for which NAGS tracks records. Maybe NAGS needs to focus on a smaller number and get rid of the more obscure ones (to lessen the load for whoever does the upload).
