Mikael Siversson
I noticed that the Winter Fest 2014 results have still not been uploaded and its now 5 months since that competition took place. The slow update or in some cases no-update-at-all is troublesome. I think there is room for improvements in this area overall.
Andrew P
I didn't even know they had a Winterfest 2015. Do you have a link to the contest results? Thanks for the catch I totaly missed it.

Mikael Siversson
Andrew, No I don't have a link (banned from DH's site) so perhaps you can ask him directly (if you are a member on his site). The contest was held in December last year. Yes, my criticism was certainly not directed towards you Aaron. You have done a fantastic job with the site. Jedd Johnson
We need to get the results in order to upload them Mikael. Instead of making these B.S. posts, about messaging whoever ran that comp and telling them to send them to us? Or you can keep doing the same thing, and getting the same results, and making yourself look like an ass. Either way is fine with me. If the promoter doesn't want their stuff on our lists, that's their problem, not ours.
Mikael Siversson
That was a rude reply. What happened to god manners? This is especially important given your position within the grip sport community. All you had to say is that there are indications suggesting DH does not want his competition results on these lists (if that is the case). climber511
A quick check of the list shows David Horne with a 54.15K One Hand Pinch result for the One hand Pinch for WFEST - 2014 for a 2nd place behind Kody. Mikael Siversson
It does not seem to be in the top 15 lists for the weight classes (which is where I was looking for it). In fact there are no records in the various weight classes for Winterfest 2014 but plenty for Winterfest 2013.
Andrew P
I was checking on the database and Winterfest 2014 is added as an event. Looks like it was a small contest with David, Sally and Lucy Horne and Chris Lowe.
Mikael Siversson
Do competition results have to be uploaded manually for the overall top50 list as well as for the individual weight classes or is it just a matter of a website software issue in this particular case? Mikael Siversson
That brings up another point. Imagine if Chris could not make it and DH carried on and broke the WR in the 1HP witnessed by his two fellow competitors (i.e., his two daughters). The rules stipulate a minimum of two competitors but what about if the fellow competitors are all part of the same family? Maybe adding a rule (if not already in place) that there has to be a non-family member competing as well?
acorn
Do competition results have to be uploaded manually for the overall top50 list as well as for the individual weight classes or is it just a matter of a website software issue in this particular case? No the results are only entered once. Just a slightly different SQL query and page layout generates either list on the fly. I have investigated and found that yes the results are in there, but need to investigate further why some a better result may not be showing for individual in the weight class area. Thanks for pointing this out so I could find a bug. - Aaron
climber511
Discussions are underway to address the Sanctioning Process and Top 50 List issues. I will post an announcement when finalized.

Thanks for pointing this out so I could find a bug. - Aaron Found the SQL code bug. Manifests in not necessarily showing the highest value for an Athlete in the Weight Class based list when that athlete has 2 different performances of the same exact result with one of them being open class (no weight) and the other being in the same weight class as their highest performance. In this case David Horne had a 1H Euro pinch result of 54.15Kg in 2014 WFest comp in 105 Masters class and 51.4Kg in 2013 same class in the 2013 WFest as well as a 51.4Kg in open class (no weight class specified) in a different comp. Will get the page SQL code fixed as soon as I can as I have already determined SQL code fix. - Aaron
acorn
Ok code should be fixed on the gripsport.org site now. As always please let me know if you see a discrepancy. - Aaron

acorn
Great work Aaron! Thx! Also just added a North America option for the Countries filter at the request of some of the NAGS promoters. It doesn't stay set after page load yet but it is there if you wanted to filter on an event results for USA and Canada together. - Aaron

Mikael Siversson
Depends, in most cases the referees are competing in the same competition (and are then judged by another competitor). Simply not enough non-competing referees around to do it any other way. I guess DH had probably cancelled the competition if Chris Lowe had not participated.
