Smooth Handled Grippers

Maybe is cause I haven't been doing grip training that long but I haven't seen much talk or interest really in smooth handled grippers. As far as I know the IM Zenith grippers are the only ones available right now.

I wanted to try one so I made my own using my Tetting SA and some 3/4" solid copper, epoxied in place, a small chamfer and some polish. It feels really nice in the hand and its rather heavy as well.

that looks awesome. I have a full set of FBBC grippers that I got in the smooth. I don't use them as much as I should bc they are super wide and super stiff. they do make you keep your hand position though.

I have seen those but FBBC closed up before I was around really.

Thanks! I have 12" of 3/4" titanium that I want to make adjustable handles out of but I have never tapped Ti so I need to do some research.

It's a bit sticky and prone to snap small taps if you are not careful. cutting lube is your friend even if it is just WD-40. That make it the most expensive gripper handles ever as well.

Yeah I almost always use a cutting lube. I don't have any experience with them but I think I might get some Rekord C-Ti Spiral Flute Taps.

Carbide or even Cobalt drills are preferrable.

Yeah I have carbide bits for the drilling. I was talking about the tapping of threads for set screws in Ti.

I like the handle in the hand with a light knurl - but I like a smooth handle in my fingers.
