king crusher
Excellent bench man! No sticking point. I'd say another 20lbs is doable. Maybe more.

hellswindstaff
Do you find that by unracking yourself that you could have gotten the bar in a better starting position if you had a hand off? I've been told that you will always have a crappy start if you don't have one by a few high ranking powerlifters. [note: I have no bench so I do all of my pressing standing and overhead so I actually can't just try it out for myself] Sick lift by the way!!! So basically you could lift more weight with a hand off, but it's not the end of the world if you dont?

AP
Make your own j-hooks like I did. Some thick g-5 bolts with a washer for the lip, enough to keep the bar from rolling off but not so far and deep as the commercial ones. I've had plenty of weight on mine and I do my own liftoffs - 460 bench in competition at 220. The alternatives aren't as good, you could narrow your grip or drop the height back down again and widen your grip an inch each side that might change the lift height you need by enough. Or you could even wedge something into the hook for your heaviest sets to reduce the depth of the hook. Sometimes you can make the liftoff a little easier by arching your ass way in the air as you lift off and then putting it down before you descend - like I said a good j-hook is the best option As a fellow home gym lifter with no spotter I also recommend a double safety system - another set of bars or chains below your normal spotter height (but high enough to spare your neck or ribs) just in case!
