Listen, when you bend over you lose power and momentum. That small action of bending over takes away from force being put into the bar. Think of it like this, when you bench and let your feet flop around you lose power. But if you dig your heels in and push you can add some power. Kind of the same thing here. Bending over is an added step you don't need, it also lets your torso get in the way and slow the power delivery to the bar. Not to mention there is the possible accidental posting on the leg. EJ Livesey Posted May 28, 2014 Share Posted May 28, 2014 It's a learning curve. Keep posting and guys will keep helping and giving tips. My form and technique is aweful, I literally just muscle the bar. I do what's comfortable for me and you should too. I know how to put power into a bar no matter how ugly I do it. I'm a powerful bender where as Tommy Jennings and Sean Cashman are technical benders. But I know the basic technique and that's all I needed.
