IJames87
Did some volume bending today with the 60 pennys. Ive tried about 5 different types of these and the ones i have now are the hardest. It seems like these things are as hard as the 5/16 hrs i have.
IJames87
Ok i spoke to soon i just wrapped up the 5/16 hrs (single leathers) and it was definately harder. I guess the 60 D toughness is a mental thing although they are still on another level compared to others ive tried.
JoshW
I just tried a 6" and a 7" wrench reverse bend and that's on another level to 5/16" and 60D. Wobbled them both and will get them next work out as it was only a test as I did my main workout last night. Technique is improving for us both brother! JoshW
Not sure if you keep a log or not but it's great to put up on here for us all to follow!
Tim71
One more thing that throws off alot of beginners. Just because you purchase hot rolled steel does not mean it's true hot rolled steel. I've been sold dark cold rolled many times for hot rolled. Hot rolled steel will have a scale that flakes off as you bend it. Also, hot rolled will make a wide "U" bend instead of a "V". The stuff you buy in 3 and 4 foot sections at the hardware stores that say hot rolled weld steel are almost never real hot rolled. Especially in the 7/16 and under sizes is where the most mistakes are made.
