Christmas trees for

Roark

Recommended Posts

So, you put some glittering foil/tinsel on your tree?

Can you imagine the drooping Chrsitmas tree at

Woody's house or at Tom Black's?

How many pieces of twisted, broken, bent, and

mangled  metal can one tree be expected

to support?

They probably took some 1/2 cold roll and formed the

tree stand as well.

And I could carry the tree in using the 2.5 inch thick trunk as a dumbbell handle, thereby scraping off all the pine needles neccessitating Mr Blacks additons :)

To the tune of White Christmas:

"I'm dreaming of a grip Christmas"

Sorry I couldn't put more nails on the tree, I've started a new batch and have the others packed away.

Tom,

Impressive!

Now here is your challenge for next year:

An iron Christmas tree, perhaps with 2" pipe (30" tall)

unpright, drilled to accept iron 'branches'  from the

ends of which dangle various nails etc.

The base should be bent from heavy stock to

balance the whole thing- a third leg may have to

be welded on for balance. Painting is allowed.

Any other ideas? We may as well make Tom work!

I liked the idea, so I got my mom to video tape me bending with 3 different styles.  Then putting them on the tree.

I used 6in long, 1/4" thick carriage bolts.

When I tried Slim Style, it bent until my thumbs hit each other.  I ccouldn't figure out how to continue the bend without breaking from "Slim Style."

I'll try to get the video converted to Real or MPEG format sometime.  Our Snappy! is broken now though, so for the time being we are unable.  Anyone who might be able to convert for me?

I think I'll make it a tradition, add more (and harder) steel every year.

Thanks for the idea,

Michael Falkov
