Wood Vs Metal Pinch Block

I was curious which material you prefer for pinch blocks. I've been using a wood block but I'm curious about trying one of the nicer metal ones out there. Are there any advantages to the metal ones over wood? I imagine they are more slippery?

Wood has a good general feel but a million combinations of texture, width and moisture . You can track personal gains in weight on the same block but the relation to any other block wood or steel is lost. Dimensional steel blocks are closer to uniform to compare with main stream benchmarks.I have always tried to pinch objects in their natural state not adding or taking away from the original finish or patina.
