barbe705
I think I have an issue with the frame hold scores. If that's correct it might change the overall a bit. will update when it's squared away.

Were there any attached times with the Medley? {for bragging rights I wanted to know if Jedd got me on time or the reverse } Additionally, do time's actually matter as far as placement goes? My question is for this contest...but not strictly so. If someone were to match Andrew's medley's numbers at National's would it then go by time? And if so...how do one reconcile time if percentage based scoring is used in the contest? Thanks for any light you can shed on the subject. barbe705
the times were not on the list for the medley sheet I got. don't know if they're recorded anywhere else. I believe that in a medley a tie is a tie. if that would end up in a tie overall I don't know how it would be resolved. I don't think we have anything in place for that. probably we should since we've had people beating each other by .001's of a point.
Cannon
thanks for posting, brent! The 2HP numbers seem low? Was the setup fiddily?

anwnate
thanks for posting, brent! The 2HP numbers seem low? Was the setup fiddily? Keep in mind, the vast majority of contestants are new to gripsport in general and/or had little to no experience in the event. (I've probably lifted one a half dozen contests+sessions combined) I believe Jedd took a big jump that didn't workout (additionally Jedd was in the process of regaining strength, since losing the bodyweight of a child). When I met the man he outweighed me by 20lbs...now I outweigh him by the same. Mike hadn't trained grip in forever. Eric was only off about 14 from his June NAGC #, but still locked up a +200 lift. Can't officially speak for the rest, but I actually think the rest of us had PR's. Was a lot of fun...many of us learned a ton.

Stephen Ruby
Nice turnout for the contest. Congratulations on the win Jedd and to everyone who competed. Looks like the hammer lift was one of the closest events-which I'm sure made it a fun event- and a lot of guys did good numbers on it. I think its a great event to test wrist strength, hope to see it more in other contests.

Colt
Yeah, I think only 5 contestants had ever been in a grip comp before and a lot of us didn't know how to gauge when to take our attempts on the 2hp. A big thing I noticed (a little too late) was the guys that knew what they were doing would come into each event much closer to their max attempt. Colt
In short, we were much more fiddly than the implement.

I made an executive decision to score the event using the number of items loaded, so the finish times did not work into it. The times were recorded though. Laps need to be recorded and the items need to be done in the same order for time to really mean that much in a medley. SO, it's much easier to just say this guy got 17 items. The best was 19 items, and the score is 17/19 = NN%X100

Something just didn't feel right during the event. No complaints or excuses. Sometimes it happens. I don't thin it had to do with weight loss. Nice turnout for the contest.
