A__G Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Holy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uecGawMhnjE Zhokh is a monster. Searching a few of his other vids, it looks like only Cyplenkov can beat him easily, out of everyone. Probably because Denis' own hand is so huge that Zhokh's weird hand doesn't give any advantage. Devon on the other hand wasn't able to get a good grip on Oleg, and didn't have hand control at all. Either way, seems like the only way to beat this guy is with massive side pressure. I wonder how he'd do against Pushkar? And, probably someone who's an actual armwrestler can estimate this better, but it looks to me as though with different judging, this easily could've been a 3-2 win for Devon, instead of 3-0, which is crazy. Also, Brzenk looked very very strong in the matches that I saw on the stream (didn't see the whole thing). Quote
bencrush Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I didn't get to see the live stream. Did Brzenk win? I hope he did. I've always liked him and his quiet style. I just re-read Eric Roussin's great article on John armwrestling an "unknown" back in '94 for some pretty big sidebet money. Great story, Eric! Quote
Shoggoth Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Oleg was amazing. Kinda reminds me of Lamar Gant deadlifting. Built for it but still damn impressive to watch a 165# guy go through everyone. Eric Roussin Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Thanks Ben. John Brzenk went undefeated with the right arm yesterday, wiinning both the 220 class and the 221+ class, as well as winning a 2 out of 3 supermatch with Marcio Barboza after the tournament. To me, he looked like he was in his best shape since 2009. 3 Quote Major Grip Titles Won: 8x Canadian Nationals; 6x Visegrip Viking; 3x APL Worlds; 3x Armlifting Worlds; 3x North Americans; 2x Arnolds; 2x Armlifting World Super Series; 2x Cross-Canada; 1x King Kong; 1x Shaw Classic Founder of Canada Grip Sport / Co-Founder of the International King Kong Grip Challenge / Creator of The Armwrestling Archives

To me, he looked like he was in his best shape since 2009. The strongest I've ever seen John was at the 2009 ROTN Tournament where he seemed invincible! Never, ever count John out in any tournament! This is why he's the BEST arm wrestler to ever grace planet earth! Oleg definitely pinned Devon in the first match For sure!!! This kid is AMAZING indeed! Unbelievable left arm! His forearm and hand are insane!!! Quote If you focus on your problems, you'll have more problems. If you focus on your POSSIBILITIES, you'll have more OPPORTUNITIES ! fightertrainer Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Oleg definitely pinned Devon in the first match In AW if you commit an elbow foul (out of pad) in winning position, it is a foul not a pin even if your opponent hand touch the pad in the process Quote
