i just started doing a little bending again after not touching a nail or steel rod for about a year. i must say that this is something that i truely suck at, and now i have a sprained wrist holding me back. hopefully it will heal up soon so i can start working the bending harder.

My best is a 40 penny nail. I'll get better when I can devote some time to it. For now I'd like to be able to build some endurance with the 40 penney and be able to bend as many as I want to on command.

Matt, I have not seen nails labeled "80-penny." What are the dimensions of the nails you are talking about, and where did you purchase them?

I don't have a set bending schedule, just do it every once in a while. It probably averages out to about once every two months. Best is an Ironmind "Blue Nail" bent to @ parallel in one minute (with bracing). Haven't done that in quite a while now. Can usually bend a "Yellow Nail" (with bracing) without psyching myself up.

I bought my 80D pole barn nails at Menards

I don't know of the quality of them but it

did take me about 2 minutes to bend it

into a "u" shape
