Emsquared
Today I made what was supposed to be cool piece of equiptment. A 3" pvc pipe and inside that a 2" galvanized steel pipe both filled with cement for a thick handled bar bell. It weighs 70lbs the only problem is I can't load it with any weight, cause I was stupid and got 2" pipe instead of 1 1/2" oh well it is nice for now. I will make another one with the 1 1/2" pipe inside and take pics of them. Matt

Emsquared
It still is a fairly hard bar to pick up if you have small hands, and it will be a good starter piece Matt
OldGuy
Is there any way you can use some 1 7/8'' diameter pipe to fit inside the 2'' pipe to hold the plates?
Emsquared
There would be except for the fact that it is packed solid with cement When I make my next one I will know better it only cost $21.00 to make, not a very big deal Matt
OldGuy
You might be able to chisel out enough concrete to make room for the pipe.
