maidenfan
I've been working the rings and pullups (and trying to lower bw) so I can get seriously into muscle-up training. One of my biggest issues was my inability to hold a false grip while hanging in the rings. Went to a class this weekend and the head instructor was CoC/MM Kurtis Bowler, another big guy. Was asking about the false grip and tips to improve it. He suggested simply hanging from the rings then work yourself into a false grip while hanging. Damn hard, but that worked my lower arms/wrists like no other. Definately try it, especially if you're a heavy guy. Tears up the skin on the wrists a bit though. Electron
What's a false grip? And are muscle-ups difficult? I've never tried.
bubba29
http://t0.gstatic.co...tijB0Atru4binEw i have rings at my house. i am not as heavy as you. how i progressed up to a muscle up was to do a ton of weighted pull ups and weighted dips on my rings. also standard weighted dips and pull ups. use the false grip as much as possible while doing pull ups on rings. make sure you go deep on your dips to mimic the transition from the pull.
