Worth The Effort

I finally got two days off of work so I decided to do something that I wouldn't normally be able to do because of time constraints. I mentioned this to my wife and she suggested that we drive to Maryland and get a new dumbell from the York supplier there. :D:D Oh happy day!

I packed the wife and my 2 year old son in the car and we were off.

After gettin' lost due to bad directions, the 2 hour drive was over. I ran in and bought a 60lb and an 80lb York dumbell, and drove straight home. After hacksawing both and playing with them, it was worth the effort. I was able to lift both 40lb "blobs" to a full deadlift position for a couple second. I was happy with this, but now I have to go and get a 95lb dumbell :whacked .

The 30lb blocks are great I'm able to toss a few times and do some cleans. I have to work much harder than with my 25lb blocks. :D

What a great day off of work. Block/blobs rule! :rock

Now that's what I call a family vacation, Hammerhead! By the way, how much does a forty pound blob weigh? I assume because it's missing the handle it would weigh a couple of pounds less than forty.

Eric-

Don't know I don't have a scale. I imagine around 39lbs. It's pretty big when you sit it next to a 25lber.

Now I'm gonna have to go and buy a 90lb dumbell soon. :)
