mcolella
I am considering ordering some 2" dumbells from PDA, and I'm wondering if those of you who are using thick dbs have knurled handles? I guess the knurling would allow for greater weight to be used, so that in addition to the grip training it would be easier to hit other trarget muscles such as lats for bent over rows. mobsterone
Without is a greater test of grip, with its more equal (still not quite) although 2 inches isn't that much of a test unless you have small hands.
Guest Harlan Jacobs
You might take a llok at John Beaty's company Fatbastardbarbellco. com. I bought a pair off of him and they are very nice. They are not knurled.
mcolella
Thanks for the input guys. My hands are 7 3/8 from the line of the wrist to the top of my index finger. I think I can barely touch my thumb on a 2" pipe.
Roark
2" pipe is technically 2-3/8" circumference (diameter refers to the inside measurement). Are you measuring the outside diameter?

Sorry, I meant that I can barely touch around my ironmind olympic loading pin. So I guess 2" outside diameter. Would this be a good size for me to use for thick handle dumbell work, or something larger?
Sybersnott
I think you're wondering about slippage, right? Just use some light chalk if it's that big of a problem. I myself HATE knurling.
