When You Are Lifting A Blob...

I have some questions about blob lifting. I have some smaller blobs (12.5 and 15lbs to be exact) so maybe these questions don't even apply to the larger blobs.

First, do you try to get your fingers on the flat part in the middle or just let them pinch on the slopped part?

Second, what do you do about the boom the blob makes when you drop it? Or maybe the question should be "do you regularly drop your blob"? I am lifting my small blob over a couple of pillows and it barely contains the noise when I drop it. I'll need something better when I go up.

Finally, do you generally lift two blobs at once or just concentrate on one hand at a time? Do I need two blobs of the same weight for anything? I'm wondering if I can give away two of my four blobs.

I appreciate any advice you can give me!

Get as much of the skin surface of your hand on the implement as possible.

I always try to control an implement at all times [i.e. I don't drop it (unless I'm using bumper plates- then it's fun to hear the thud)]. Of course, sometimes I can't do that. As long as you're not going to damage the floor by dropping it, and you don't mind the thud, it doesn't matter much.

Lifting two blobs at once is harder than lifting one at a time. You don't need two blobs of the same weight for anything, but you may want them. It's personal choice. I have at least a pair of each weight of blob that I own. I do both single-handed and one in each hand lifts. The day this boy farmer's walks with a 50 in each hand will be a very good day.
