Weight Belt Recommendation

Cannon

Recommended Posts

I need a recommendation for a good all purpose weight belt. Not a budget belt, or the best out there at any cost--just a good belt at a good price.

I've got a Titan/Toro single pin belt as well. Really like it. I've also got the Rehband strongman belt set which is also good in the right situation.

http://www.bestbelts.net/ are my pick. The customer service is really good and you get free shipping. Each belt it custom made, I needed more holes for gaining/losing weight and he punched them for free. I was going to get this or the Inzer Forever belt but there are many complaints about Inzer's customer service/mailing times. Everyone that had a belt from bestbelts said it was really easy and fast to break in and I found this to be true. I got the 10mm Athletic belt with a single prong. Very happy with it

Just picked up the Inzer lever belt for about $75 shipped to my door. Super nice belt and very happy with it. Best belt I've owned.

I have the 10mm Inzer Forever two prong. I don't use a belt much anymore but I've had it forever and it's still holding up like a champ.

What are the pros/cons for choosing single or double pin?

Double pins are a pain in the butt and unnecesary to keeping the belt on and tight.

I ordered from inzer and it ook 5 months to get here. another guy at the gym is still waiting.

anderson powerlifting shipped to 3 other guys at the gym the same day they ordered. one guy they called back because they missed the friday truck and it would ship saturday. he had ordered it friday.

so, I would go with the toro belts from anderson they're super nice belts and the people are top notch.

(I have since ordered wrist wraps. ordered monday, here on thursday.)

Brent, like this one from Anderson's site?

http://andersonpower...ion=show_detail

Or the blue one like Burns recommended above?

personally I have a lever belt. I don't think I could ever go back to a non lever belt at this point.

they're nice and, depending on what you do it might be worth the extra coin.

I do highland games and a bit of strongman. no squat rack to help you tighten your belt up in a field. so, the lever is very nice. also, you can do the lever behind you back to keep it out of the way.

and, after you do a badass lift you let the lever snap open making a really loud click. very tough guy.

so, I would say go with a lever. now, there may be reason to not go with a lever but, I don't know them.

Sounds good.

Any recommendation on size? My waist is roughly 32.

Small is 25-35 and Medium is 29-39.

Small would work because I don't think I'll ever have over a 35 waist. On the other hand, Medium also makes sense becuase I don't think I'll ever have under a 29 waist.

Do they stretch as they break in or anything? I actually don't see how I could go wrong with Medium.

You want one like the blue one. The other one is tapered in the front, you don't want that. Some people like the lever belts and some people don't because of the lever breaking or just find cumbersome mess with. Unless you plan using some crazy weights with powerlifting gear, 10mm is good. 13mm might be a bit thick for some because it offers a little too much support. Most high quality belts are the same but most require a break in time and can dig into the hips when you first get them especially with the 13mm ones. I wouldn't spend over 70 including shipping on a casual belt.

Here the the belts that I have tried on

http://www.bestbelts.net/Powerlifting-Belts/Athlete.aspx The one I have and love

http://www.flexcart.com/members/elitefts/default.asp?m=PD&cid=299&pid=3495 EFS econo belt..Great quality

http://www.inzernet.com/detail_belt.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FOREVERBELT_BUCKLE13 Great quality, really stiff though heard the 10mm was good too

Ever seen the Spud belts? I hear good things about them unless you have a real thick waist

you will have no complaints when it comes to a lever belt the only set back is if u lose or gain weight is you ahve to physically move the lever ither in or out but its a minor inconvience for a belt that will hold up to anyhting you put it through

Cannon,

not sure if you ordered yet or not, but make sure you measure for the belt around your belly button where it will be worn. Also, I called Inzer before I bought my used Inzer belts and the sizing really goes an additional 3" each way for their belts.

I own the single prong 13mm Forever belt, $50 used from Chip Tallman (bench specialist from MI) and love it. The great thing about the buckle belt is that you can wear it loose for light sets to help break it in.

I also own the 13mm Inzer Buckle belt. The benefits of the lever are the quickness and being able to tighten it anywhere. Initially with the buckle belt I had to use my power rack to get it tight enough.

If you have any questions about sizing, call. Titan and Inzer will be able to help more.

Did you order an odd color? If you order a black belt they ship right away, the colors don't get made untill they get the order. BTW my pick is the inzer forever 10mm single prong.
