Guest Jeff Roark
I would like to know if anyone here had ever tried a Density Training approach for the COC grippers? I will be starting it Thursday with a COC#1. I am going to do the routine Mondays and Thursdays, along with some Rolling Thunder work and Eagle Loop timed hangs. The approach that I plan to use comes from Bryce Lane and is very simple in structure. 50 reps in 20 minutes or less. I will decide on my route of progression at that point., I can try to get the same amount of repetitions in a much lower time ie; 10 minutes or less or I can try to work up to more repetitions in the total 20 minute allotted time, for example 100 reps in 20 minutes. When I can meet either goal I will step up to the next higher gripper and repeat the same. When I can do this with the BBM I should be strong and have a fine crushing base built, to help with my final assault on the #3. Hopefully for one time I can stay away from injury. I think I read long ago that Bob Lipinski used a similiar approach, maybe not as structured. If I am correct he said he would do as many reps as he could with his #2 in a specific time, not sure if was 40 or 60 minutes. Anyway i just wanted to share this approach and hear from anyone who has used successfully or not. Jeff
RSW
Jeff, Bob would do as many closes in 40 min. as he could, once a week. This is how he trained to close the #3. Here is a link to Bob's site:Training Coc grippers I am using Bob's method plus some heavy work on the Gripinator. Robert
