Two-handed Loose Plate Pinch

Recommended Posts

I been searching the board and the Internet, but I haven't been able to find a lot of information about records in two-handed pinch with loose plates. It seems that people only do one-handed loose plate pinch or two-handed pinch on an apparatus.

Right now I don't have access to an apparatus and it would be nice to have something to strive for and work towards, so what would be considered good in a two-handed loose plate pinch?

I would say 3 45 plates together is pretty decent im still working on that myself. Also all you need for 2 hp is a footlong section of metal pipe or pvc with an outer diameter of less than 2". Stick 2 45s together and then add weight to it on the pipe

Cool, haven't thought about just using a piece of PVC pipe, that must be easy to get my hands on for a reasonable amount of money.

But I think I will stay with the loose plate pinch for now until I have worked myself up to a least 3x20kg and preferable 3x25kg. Thank you for the quick answer :)

No prob. The wide pinch is a lot harder by the way I can do around 120 with the 3 plates width but around 165 with 2 plates width. 1 foot of metal plumbing pipe will run you around 6 bucks- pvc even cheaper

Think I will see if I can find some small plumbing store that would sell me a small piece of pipe, the larger stores in my area will only sell my pipe in lengths of 6m, at a price of about 100$. I'm pretty sure I could get a small piece of 50mm PVC pipe for under 10$ though.

Or you can wedge a barbell in a corner and use one of the sleeve ends if you go to a commercial gym.
