Recommended Posts

I tried my grippers for the first time in ages. I can no longer close a #2. At one time I was able to no set a #3 and get a #4 to handles parallel. I am looking for a routine to get back on track. Thanks

Hey OldGuy i am in the same situation. Resumed gripper training a few weeks ago.

I simply do what i recommend to beginners: 3 sets, 2 times a week.

At the moment it looks like this (RH):

Extensive warm-up with the T and the #1

1 set of ~10 no set reps with the #1.5

2 set of ~3 no set reps with the #2

I'll switch to a different routine only when i plateau.

Cheers.

I would just say to take the time to recover as you work back into things. Don't necessarily put yourself on a set schedule, but rather work out when you're not sore anymore. You'll probably see gains right away from anything you do, so do what you like. Once you hit a wall, then maybe consider a routine to address the problem.
