tomricci
While using my Ironmind Wrist Roller I noticed the cord was getting a little frayed where it is inserted through the hole in the handle. I knew I needed to make a new knot to get rid of the frayed area and I discovered that even after heating the nylon cord to harden it so it could be fed into the hole, it was difficult to do. So what I did was to take a worm drive hose clamp such as you have on the radiator hoses in your car, and fed the cord through it and tightened the clamp onto the handle holding the cord tight to it. I wasn't sure if this would hold much weight and I would urge caution if you do this. It did hold for my entire set of wrist rolling and I finished up with 200 lbs. on the loading pin with no signs of slippage or fraying of the cord. Best of all it eliminates the "thump" of the knot and the added resistance the knot inside the roller causes. Of course next time I will purchase a roller from PDA since it is a superior design. Guest wells
Hey Tom are you doing 200lb. Wrist Rolling via standing straight arm lifting and supporting method or is the roller on a bar in a cage?
tomricci
The roller is rotating on a 1 inch bar that is supported on both ends in my squat rack. No way could I straight arm roll this much weight. As it is, the bar is 5 feet off the floor and with the loading pin length I am doing about 4 feet of overhand rolling alternating each hand. I finish the set by doing "burns" or partial rolls. I roll the weight up then instead of switching hands I let it roll back and then roll up again for about 8-10 reps. Guest wells
I have never tried wrist rollers via your method. Worked a wrist roller/cable machine with max allowed weight of 150lbs. if I remember correctly. I use the old fashion wrist roller: stick with weight at end of rope. Hang your arms out in front of you and cry until it is over! I hope to try your method one day soon.
