UPS "Your what?" ME "My blob, you know, like in the movie" UPS "What's it for?" ME "Grip strength. It's half of a hundred pound dumbbell." UPS "Yeah right, here take it, its killing my arms." Of course, my eight year old son is with me, on his way to school. Sean "Hey dad, did you close the #3 yet?" Me "Uh, no Sean, not yet." UPS "What's the #3?" Me "A heavy duty gripper" Sean "Yeah my dad is going to close it and have his picture in Milo." UPS "What's Milo?" Me "Look, its getting late, I gotta get him to school. If your interested, stop by after work and I'll show you my collection of grip toys. UPS "No thanks, my wife hates callouses" ME " Thanks for the package, I gotta go." Sean " Hey dad when are going to close the #3?" Me "Hopefully soon Sean." Sean "Are they going to take a picture when you pick up the blob?" Me "No, Sean, but maybe they will take apicture when you pick it up." Sean "Cool" I was going to take the day off from KTA, but between my kid and the "callous" comment from the UPS guy, I found the motivation to torture my hands for another day. When I carried them in I made it look as effortless as possible UPS: Sir, our new policy is that we open each box for inspection Me: Yeah, that's fine UPS: Is there anything that this knife will slice open in here? Me: Ahh, no UPS (after trying to slide the package across the table): What's in here? Me: 50 pound block weights UPS: Huh? Me: I cut the handle off of 100 pound dumbbells and I'm shipping the individual 50 pound bells to some friends UPS: Huh? Me: It's a grip exercise, a great test of wide pinching strength UPS: Huh? Me: Ya know, grip work (I squeeze my hands open and closed) UPS: So all these boxes have the same thing in them? Me: Yup UPS: I don't need to open anymore Ahhh, the good times...
