Sledghammer Chain Twists?

Have a question about sledgehammer chain twists I saw on another site. Where you hold the hammer parellell to the floor and try to twist a chain around the shaft. Question is do your hold the hammer with one hand and twist with the other or try to twist with both hands at the same time.

Also even tho it looks kind of interesting is it even worth doing? Thanks for any answers...Brett

I "invented" this exercise, as far as I know and many people have told me it is one of the most challenging forward exercises they have tried.

It is definitely worth doing. It works everything from your biceps down to your hands and blows your forearms up.

Both hands work to twist the chain up. At least that is how I have always done it. Never tried it keeping one hand still.

Here is the video I have on YouTube of a Medley/Circuit I was doing at the time quite a bit.

I might add that for the best effect, you really do need to use a chain. It just doesn't hit the forearms the same with a strap tied to the hammer and a weight hanging from the strap. That is how we did it at Nationals and I really wish I would have done it with a chain instead. It makes a huge difference in the difficulty level.

Here is the link to the article that goes along with the video: Freaky Forearm Circuit
