bseedot
Just watched Jeff Peterson Certify on the #3. Wade judged the close, but Jeff had plenty of strength for us all to get a good look at it. Congrats Jeff! It's a very nice accomplishment! BC.

Emsquared
Way to go Jeff Peterson, When I watched you close the #3 today, with Wade judging it was awesome. Great Job By the way your Master is like closing the #1 Matt M. Edited February 9, 2003 by Emsquared
Wade Gillingham
It's true, it's true. Awesome job by Jeff. This wasn't a weak #3 either. It was a double stamped (new one) with the handles set high. BC and Jeff wanted me to close it but it scared me enough to decline the offer....it's my day off! Incidentally, I spoke with Randy Strossen at length yesterday. He told me that the new grippers that are coming out are much tighter controlled on the spread, height of the handles on the spring, and wire tension. For those of you that bought a #4 in the last few months and are astounded by how stiff it is, well that's the new standard. The higher handles take away a lot of action in the spring - now it just feels like a brick. Wade

mobsterone
Kewl. BTW: no comments of Randalls words. I'm surprised. Its practically an admittance on his part. News: he will be coming to the UK for the OH dinner in March.
EricMilfeld
If the #4 I received last month is the new standard, I really have a hard time imagining the new standard ever being closed. The thing is a practical joke, right!
EricMilfeld
Congratulations, Jeff! That's atleast three of us from the board that will be in the June issue of Milo.

Bill Piche
BTW: no comments of Randalls words. I'm surprised. Its practically an admittance on his part. Huh? That the "quality control" statement made for years was absolute bunk (which we all know).

amaury
It would perhaps explain why i didn't feel there was a lot of differences between the grippers i've tested (belonging to friends): they were all bought recently !?

JeffPeterson
Thanks guys. It was great to be able to get certified by Wade. At the same time it was nice to have Brian and my brother there, people knowledgable about grippers. Next stop the Elite- Hopefully!

Sybersnott
I was going to start a new thread and ask this question... but I'll ask it here. All the brand-new COC's (Jeff Peterson, Tou, Eric, etc.)... will you guys be attending the AOBS in June to show off your newly-aquired COC status? There's always room at the GripTable for a new COC! Tou
I hope I can make it to the AOBS
