daniel reinard
Nice lift! How long did it take for you to work up to that? I'm curious because I'm new to the grip world.

mightyjoe
Thanks guys! I don't know the brand of plate. A friend of my son (Cody) gave it to him for hubbing. It's identical to the one Eric Milfeld or Paul Knight has. It's not sand blasted either, it's an off gray color and is actually a slick hubbing surface. I've tried a plate at the gym that's easier because the hubbing surface is rougher than this one. I'm very proud of this feat because of the slick surface. This is a hard #45 to hub. How long did it take? Hubbing is something I haven't actually set out to get good at (that may change now) but according to my training logs I've trained the hub 6 times since the first of the year but I've done grip work that carrys over to hubbing also. The training sessions were just attempts and then some lighter singles on my hubbing device I named the "Stub". It's like the IM hub except the hub height is shorter for less hubbing surface which in turn makes the lift more difficult. Hope this answers all the questions. I can talk with the guy that gave Cody the plate and see if he knows the brand name of the plate. The weight set was not new, but it looked new due to lack of use (imagine that). If you can hub this plate, you can hub any #45. Thanks again!!!

mightyjoe
Good job Joe .. You can buy those plates at The Sports Authority (Like an Academy) You have me curious now Paul. I asked Cody about this plate and he told me that the guy (Steve) that gave it to him got the weight set from his grandfather. So if these are still avalable then they've been around awhile now. I'm going to do some further checking still.
