Are Some Nails Just Harder Then Others?

I purchased some 60d nails from a local hardware store that I can barely budge. I have only been consistently bending for about a month but following the progression on the DC Bending Book, either these nails are tough as hell, or my other stock is sub par. I purchased some 7" and 6" 1/4" HRS from a local distributor that I usually work with ( I believe that this is comparable to IM Yellow and Blue). I have done three 6" Grade 5 bolts with alot of effort. These nails are just harder. I guess my question after all of this rambling is are some nails just harder then others?

Yes. You have found some serious 60D nails.

Occasionally they are tougher than others, but I don't think I've ever had one harder than a grade 5. You found some savage 60's.

I know Aaron & Eric have calibrated 6" G5's at 375 lbs and i have claibrated Sivaco 60d's between 265 - 405. So yes they realy do vary ALOT.
