"D"
I've noticed at the begining of almost every grip workout I do, the bones in my hands crack. Not the knuckles but more like the metacarpals at the wrist. It doesn't hurt but I'm worried if I'm doing any damage. Does this happen to anyone else? EricMilfeld
I experience a cracking sound too, but so far it doesn't seem to be causing me any trouble. Maybe it's akin to knuckle popping?
Tou
Try to put your hands under hot water for 2-3 minutes before working out. My knuckles never crack when I'm fully warmed up.
bseedot
My hands crack like that too when I'm not properly warmed up. BC.
BulletTooth
Same thing here. If I warm up: no problem. If I just grab the #3 and give it a go: I get a nice loud crack from somewhere around the center of the back of my hand. -Scott
gollan
My joints crack just during the warmup. I believe this is perfectly harmless. BTW, one of my CoC grippers groans a bit for the first few reps .
Guest Harlan Jacobs
Try putting some light oil on the spring.

Guest Harlan Jacobs
Anything that moans, needs some lube to reduce friction.
