This is Elizabeth Talbot posting under David's username. He has asked me to let everybody know that his father passed away on Tuesday the 21st January at the age of 66. Many people who read this will have met him in David's grip contests and will remember that he was a kind and gifted man, much loved, and with very strong hands!

I would like to add that this is why any subscribers to Iron Grip magazine have not yet received the January issue. It was set to go out last weekend but we delayed it slightly to include Steve's dumbbell feat, and have now been further delayed by this recent event. I am now working to get it out this weekend coming, as David is staying down in Essex with his Mum until after the funeral.

For anyone who was planning on attending, please note that the Endurance Event that was planned for this weekend has been cancelled.

Thanks for your time,

Elizabeth

Very sad to have lost your dad at the relatively early age of 66. My dad passed away a long time ago. He is in my thoughts every day. Be strong.

David,

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. My father passed away three years ago at the age of 61. Similar to OldGuy, my father is in my thoughts each and every day too. I hope you and your family have the strength and support you need at this time. Good fathers are indeed very precious.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of David's father. My father passed several years ago at the age of 61, so I know what it's like to lose a Dad. This is sad news indeed. :sleep

My condolences to all involved. In September I lost my Mother after a long illness, and Gazza is right - your memories do not fade away.

Now, more than ever, I wish you and your family the best of strength - the REAL kind of strength that this will need.

Very sorry for your loss David. We all know you'll come back more determined than ever, stronger than ever.

I always have the picture of my grand father in my basement. He was a farmer and appreciated strength. I hear him congratulate me when I break a PR. You'll use this kind of motivation and you'll astonish us all again and again.

My prayers go out to you and your family David. I lost my grandfather just last week, though he will always be in my heart. They are in a better place now and rest assured we will see them again my brother.

God Bless,
