fightertrainer
i Wonder how much weight was the globe dumbell? 90lbs? It could have landed with nearly 170 lbs of force. Amazing sidepressure hit in training too. Did you even slow him down Joe?

Amazing sidepressure hit in training too. Did you even slow him down Joe? NOPE! His arm was like a planted oak tree. Nothing moved except his arm pinning mine. I tried 2 hands and this slowed him down to about 1 second. Johnny was the ref at a tournament in Jacksonville, Texas that day. He came to ref and his appearance at the tournament attracted AW'ers from everywhere. Awesome experience! Glad you guys like the video. fightertrainer
I want to do that exercise now.......looks like a lot of fun. hahaha funny you mentioned this. Last week, I pick up only 30 lbs dumbell and try to feel it first, a power lifter guy in the gym tried to pick up a 90lbs dumbell, after I told him about JW. He picked it it saying ..."no way Jose" I LMAO. I think light weight should be used to break in it, or else you will have broken foot one of these day. Timing is as just important as is co-ordination

Timing is as just important as is co-ordination I do a similar exercise with a jump stretch band wrapped around the dumbbell and then do holds while the weight bounces around. It forces you to react to a different constantly changing force. I've noticed my hold has become very strong and my arm a lot quicker to any force placed upon it. Johnny Walkers' exercise seems like it's after the same goal. To train the arm for a strong quick reaction to an opposing force.
Strongerwrist
My first nationals (89) I met Johnny Walker and was amazed at his forearms.. One of the all-time greats.

I've only ever found very old vid(s) of JW in a tourney, and it's a blink of an eye, literally, lol. Good find!
