uber44
Hello I've been trying to find a used one since I left my gym and took up training at home. HAs anyone else used one or know anywhere besides ebay I might find one? I loved it and it wouldnt take up that much room at home. Roark
uber44, Having never used one I would like to know why you liked it, and how much weight you could use percentage as compared to over the knee wrist curls. Thanks
Tom of Iowa2
We have one but We don't use it...others at the club do use it though. Its on the ground now so you have to get on your knees to use it plus being so low you can't put big (45-35-25lb plates)plates on it. We were thinging of building a tall narrow stand for it so you could have enough room to load it up. Roark, if you look at some of the Josh Bigger photos you will see one on the floor... As we are pursueing sponsorship from Hammer we may figure out a way to utilize it in a heavy manner for a possible event?? I'll talk to the welding crew-they are welding up some ponderous implements right now... and see what they say about the 'stand'..as it is now?in my opinion? its pretty 'limited' for serious grip dudes... tomricci
At the gym I regularly train at we have a Hammer Strength wrist curl machine(?) and I have used it enough times to find it to be an OK warmup but it doesn't have the natural feel of a bench or knee wrist curl. It seems as though wherever I place my arm, the arc of the machine arm is different than the curved plane of my hand's motion. It feels like the closer you get to the end it seems to be working in a direction of resistance that is more of a binding action than a smooth linear resistance. When I do wrist curls with a barbell and a thumbs under grip it is very hard to do but it has a more natural "feel" to it than the Hammer machine. Sorry if this is a long reply, this is my first post since recently joining this forum. Tom
Tom of Iowa2
Just wondering..do they have it on the floor or on a table or stand? That description of the 'arc'is about right....don't really use it but it is very different from a free bar wrist curl. Anybody do heavy-alternateing- wrist curls with a dumbell in each hand..??now that is a b*#tard of a movement.Cuts down on poundages.....for me anyway
tomricci
It's on a table about waist high. The most I've used on it is 60 lbs total and that feels very heavy but unnatutal. The bar on the bench supporting the forearms gives me a great feel through the entire range of motion. I haven't used a forearm bench such as the one that Larry Scott sells but I can see where having the hips lowwer can be a help when the weights get heavy.
