mobsterone
In accordance with GB rules (esp regarding 2HP records) and as planned for the last two weeks (announced on another forum) Saturday Jan 30th is leg one of the above mentioned series of grip competitions. There will be two groups, one based in Stafford and the other here in Gloucester competing both against each other and between the athletes. Both groups have BHSA gym memberships (see BHSA sticky). Events are (following usual rules): 1. 2HP 2. Weaver stick to the rear - no wrist wraps 3. Orbi - most revs in 2 minutes wins. The next event is, I think, Feb 20th. mobsterone
Scoring sheets sent to David and will be posted later. From a brief chat I did the highest 2HP of the day David missing the WR. David did a crazy 200+ on the Orbi, Liz raised the 2HP record for women and David did a huge wrapless but still sub wrap assisted Weaver Stick. I know Mike video'd some of the pinch lifts so I'll see what he has and whether or not it's worth posting. I'll copy and paste a Stafford report if there is one. Hubgeezer
Congratulations to everyone! Large number of participants. Jose has come a long way in the Pinch in the last few years. Elizabeth's numbers are quite something. And David Horne still has got it? That's impressive. I figured after Steve beat him a while back, David would go into retirement. I am always inspired by anyone over 40 competing intensely.
Jedd Johnson
Congratulations everybody! David coming out of nowhere and still having a good showing. Right on, my man. Thanks for the report Steve! Way to hit some big numbers. -Jedd-
bencrush
Wow, congrats guys and Elizabeth! HUGE pinch numbers from Elizabeth too!
The Mac
He, I don't think David ever comes from "nowhere"! :-)

I am always inspired by anyone over 40 competing intensely. David's efforts on the Orbi come from what I'll assume is almost daily use as part of his arm wrestling training. That work also helps the weaver stick lift but it's worth saying I did, what, 4 sessions?? So one can assume other grip work helps and it's just greasing the groove which helps there. Finally, at least for him and a few others, his 2HP doesn't go away that much. Like Loz he doesn't train it as frequently as some and even I hadn't trained it for about 9 days. Plus, as David will tell you, he's not long moved and nigh on every day he did a few hours heavy landscaping work getting his new gym (now in the garden) ready for the competition and THEN trained. A good way to get conditioning.
climber511
Congrats to everyone for some great lifting. Loz jut knocked me out of the top ten on the 2 HP list - time to get busy.
