Guest Hobbs28
I am new to the board I purchased COC#1 and #2 to help my softball swing. My grip was a little weak last year and bought these to help me. I was surprised as I closed the number two right out of the wrapper but have not been able to do it consistantly. I was wondering what else you guys would recommend for helping my softball swing. Anyone out there that would lend me a little advice on the subject? I am grip exercise ignorant so please explain in full. Thanks
HandsofStone
Your definately on the right track about using the grippers. You should also include any wrist/forearm related exercises into your program as well.
Guest mg6680
If you're looking to improve your softball swing I'd suggest concentrating on your wrist strength and flexibility. Sledge levering, wrist curls, pronate/supinate, wrist rolling, etc.
Sybersnott
Work on strengthening your wrists. The Heavy Hammer II is great for this. You can find it in the IM catalog; also the Wicked Wrist Roller.
Rick Browne
BAT SPEED.......BAT SPEED........BAT SPEED!! While having srong wrists and hands are an essential part of the swing, they are not the most important. Bat speed development should be your main focus. Grippers and wrist rollers do not develop bat speed. I have played highly competitive softball. Traveling tournaments on the state and national level. You know...everything paid for tournament type teams. If you would like we can discuss it via PM and emails. I know a good swing development program and other ideas to develop your bat speed. (Actually, your bat speed begins with the legs and hips. so as not to clutter the board with non grip talk, I will PM the info)
Cunny
Try this maybe good for baseball.Get the largest bottle you can find around 2 litres would bee good and fill it with sand then use it for swings and slow swings will also work wrists just a suggestion but make sure you really pack it with sand even let it settle for a few days before adding more sand.
