Rick Browne
A member on here was looking for York solid cast DBs for block weights a while back? I do not remember who it was. Anyway, I know a guy down the road from me that has 55#ers (2) for sale. I offered $20 for each one. He said He said he would hold them untill 4pm EST. He works at a used equipment place. Rick Browne
I should have added. I will gladly get them for whomever wants them for blockweights.
Sybersnott
zcor, At that price, get them. Blobs last forever, and are great fun to train with!
Rick Browne
You got that right Syber. Actually I already have York Blobs up to a 45lber. So I did not need them for myself. I posted for anyone else that was looking for Yorks but have no access for them. Since I did not get back with the guy he put them back on the floor and they were sold yesterday (Fri.). Oh well. Syber, a few days ago you posed about your custom made gripper from Tetting. What do you mean by a custom gripper? Thanks
Sybersnott
zcor, Tetting will custom make a gripper to YOUR specifications! Yes! A gripper to your liking. Let me explain. I wanted a BBE with handles closer together than a normal gripper. I called him on the phone and we talked about it, and he made me two of them - one where he turned the spring down as far as it would go, and the other about an inch farther from the first one. If you're training on the #3, then this would be a great training tool. I even had them calibrated by PDA and they came in like they were tough #3's. If you're interested in the Tetting grippers, IM me and I'll give you his address and phone number.
gazza
Sybersnott I recently had a gripper made of stainless steel with a 3# spring that has been chronium plated.
Roark
When John Beatty stopped by here the first time, I had several broken, hex dumbells- perhaps six or eight halves. We chatted about blobs, I showed him the broken bells, he and Travis and I loaded them into his vehicle. He was happy, my wife was happy (one less pile of iron in the garage) and now I have a little more space. I would have offered them thru the grip board, but shipping costs would have been prohibitive.
terminator
SybersnottI recently had a gripper made of stainless steel with a 3# spring that has been chronium plated. Did Tetting make it? Something like that interests me.
gazza
Pat It was made by Robert Baraban. I have several digital pics of the gripper, but do not no how to use them in my posts!
gazza
Pat The spring is chronium plated not the gripper, altho Robert did offer to chronium plate the whole gripper!

Sybersnott
gazza, I have not heard from Robert in quite some time, and I'm glad he's now making some grippers. BTW, is that a tough gripper? It looks very interesting, and I might contact him and have him make one for me (how much do they cost?).
gazza
Sybersnott The gripper that Robert made for me was a 1 off and he canabilized his number3# gripper for the spring, then had it chronium plated and made the handles to my spec, stainless steel,3 lines, gazza logo etc. Wannagrip am i ok to plug someone elses products as it will be of benefit to the grip community,if not just delete this part. In the new year Robert will be introducing a pocket hand dynanometer built to the standards of his other dyno, but pocketable measuring a 150kilos squeeze. He is also prepared to make various grippers if the demand is there, the more he makes the cheaper they become,as he would have to order so many springs etc to bring the cost down.Price would also depend on materials used, stainless steel, aluminium, brass or titanium etc. If it takes off, they will be available through myself or Robert. Please email Robert with your thaughts at Nightflight@uboot.com or post your response here thanks.
gazza
Syber Forgot to say,the gripper is about a medium 3#,according to Jim Wylie who closed it at my house and who is stronger and has more gripper experience than i do.Robert said it has been well seasoned (the spring)but the chronium on the spring makes it a bit tougher. I am shure a man of your caliber would have no probs crushing it.
Guest mg6680
Just sent him an email...Hope he makes the dyno, I'd be interested in that.
gazza
mg6680 You will not be disappionted in the pocket hand dyno,no corners will be cut IE-superb engineering standards and top quility materials will be used through out,it will not be cheap but quility and lifetime of reliability seldom are!
