Hossein Rezazadeh

It's good to see Olympic weightlifters competing in strongman events. I hope Hossein competes and does a good job. Gary Taylor was one of my favorite strongmen when he competed. Remember how powerful and explosive he was?

Somebody get the word to him to at least practice a little with some thick bar stuff...he might?think cleaning the Appollon will be a 'joke'because it is so light....and to him it is light -poundage wise.

But a little practice on the thick bar and grip couldn't hurt...

On the other hand he MAY be fully aware of thsese little details :cool

Any more word on the events?

I just had a read of the post and it seems that not only will Rezazadeh be competing, but also big Andrei Chemerkin as well!!!

Now I really, really, hope that this is true.

Actually having another read, Brad Gillingham and Garry Frank are on the list as well.

Now I'm really having doubts :unsure

I think they all are to be invited and as to whether they compete may be a different story altogether.

Can always keep the fingers crossed I guess...

IFSA representive in the USA ,Mr. Jim Davis just confirmed that the top IFSA Athletes are invited for the Arnold Classic Strongman contest at 28 febr. and 1 march. The names of Svend Karlsen , Mariusz Pudianowski , Zydrunas Zavickas and Steve Kirit are on the list for invitation.

Further competitors will be: Hossein Rezazadeh, Andrei Tchermerkine,Brad Gillingham and Gary Frank. The contest is IFSA Sanctionated.

That's copy/pasted from that site. If they all show up it will be an epic battle for sure!! (not sure if I'm conforming enough to the "rules" or what by doing that but I guess I'll find out soon enough hehe) I'd add Jaber Saaed Salem also.

What a contest that would be if all of these guys came ! I am sure they won't, but you never know. Then again it all depends on the events. Are they all going to be static or will you have to run and do a medley like in a Strongman contest.

I hope it IS true..but last year didn't they 'release' some names of some O-lifters and then we found out later they'd never heard of the contest..???/i remember something on Milo site about Chermikin never heard about it???

Also it was discussed on the Diesel forum(not the accurate information forum of the world but ai recognized some names)

Again I HOPE(PRAY)that these guys will actually be getting an Invite but something was up last year too....

But IF true....WOW!

I hope they also release the events in time for all to know them also?I would seem the AMericans or at least Mark might have a heads up on this???As strong as these guys are we all know what a difference a little preperationa nd practice can mean...if one knows the events then all should OR keep it secret from all??

Just random thoughts...not being negative.i hope..I hope..I hope.. :yikes

that would be an awesome showdown. if those guys have a grip comparable to their pulling and overhead strength we could see the axle and inch bell get some serious air time.
