Tom of Iowa2
Just to make it exciting who would you pick to see compete against Mark Henry....IF the events are the same as last year. (I would assume they will juggle events around and perhaps have some new ones but IF the same???) As in Previous Post,in my opinion, Svend Karlsen and Phil Pfister have earned a spot...who else would you like to see?
Tou
Hugo Girard. I'd also like to see a top heavyweight OL lifter.
Guest Mikael Siversson
Rezazadeh.
The Gripster
What about the Polish powerhouse Mariuz Pudznowski?
mobsterone
Gary Frank and Andy Bolton - again
3Crusher
No doubt the one who would make Henry look foolish would be Chris James.
OldGuy
I too think that Chris the real deal James could give Mark Henry a run for his money. Chris is the thickbar daddy.
Nathan Say
Yeah he'll be the next to clean an Inch dumbell. Either him or some unknown farmer-type like Steve Justa who comes out of the woodwork one day.
terminator
Will the Millenium DB be in attendance for Mark Henry to try? I'm betting that he could walk right up to it and deadlift it. Judging by how easily he picked up the Inch replica with his offhand and walked with it there's no doubt in my mind.
JeffPeterson
I just don't think anyone can beat Mark. If a competition was grip, oly lifting, powerlifting and strongman nobody would be even close.
Tom of Iowa2
I would like to add...as a fan..i'd like to see Brad G.get another shot as he had that fluke bicep muscle? and bicep tendon tear.I belive he cleaned the axle?but didn't press it. As Svend and Phil earned a shot by placeing 2nd and 3rd i think Brad earned a shot becaue the injury hampered his placeing? On the other hand he may have other fish to fry in powerlifting....? If not Brad-Perhaps the Russian that won the IPF supers this year.Or the Hungarian that deadlifted 897#??? BTW: Also like Harlan said IF this was a 7 to 9 event Full blown strongman contest things would-perhaps?- be a little different. One must remember The Arnold(though a very cool contest)was just four events.2 stationary...2 with movement. This is 50% static and 50% movement. Most(not all)Strongman contests might have 2 static events and 6 moving events OR 3 static and 5 or 6 moving? Not the 50-50 ratio of the Arnold... Modern strongmen-as strong as they are-have conditioned themselves to DO several different HEAVY events. Thus their brute power IS actually takeing a beating with their training and conditioning to do so many events. Please don't take this the wrong way..and NOT taking anything away from MARK(and perhaps Mark could do a strongman contest)but Karl and Phil and Kirit and Phillipi and especially Svend would be a LOT stronger on the lifting events IF thats what they focused on? Just a thought.....
Tom of Iowa2
Sorry to ramble but one thougt leads to another. Savicus,2nd place at WSM 2002 is an all around strength and Power monster. He WOULD likely do well at the ARNOLD.Powerlifting back ground,335 -340lbs, and just a Clydesdale of a man...with some speed.
Guest Mark
Three that come to mind are Chris James,Shane Hamman, and Gary Frank. Mark
