Aobs Dinner - Good News!!!

I just got a call from Bruce Wilhelm, and he gave me some very good news about the AOBS Dinner. Arthur Drechsler has taken over organizing the dinner for next year, and the main honoree will be Vic Boff. The dinner will be on June 28th, 2003 in Saddlebrook New Jersey, just like it has been for the previous two AOBS Dinners. It is a shame that Vic has passed on and those who never met him in person, never will, but it is still a great opportunity to honor and mingle amongst some of the great old timers of the Iron Game. If the 2003 dinner is half as good as it was in 2002, it will still be twice as good as any Iron Game event you will ever attend.

As far as cost, I do not know what it will be for next year, but last year, it was $55 per person. It will be at the Saddlebrook Marriot, but as far as more details than that, I have none. As far as how you get invited, I used to call Vic, and he told me to send him a check. Instructions, I am sure will be issued in the coming months. When I get details, I will let everybody know. Tommy, R U related 2 The Artist formerly known as Prince the way U spell? You would have to have seen one of his album covers, or lyric sheets to get what I am talking about. Another thing-if one claims they can close a certain gripper, or bend a certain piece of steel, this is the place to "walk the walk," if you have "talked the talk."

Hey, you know I'll be there! :yikes This is an event you don't want to miss. Steve, I got the Jan and Terry Todd letter in the mail today, and they talked about Vic's passing. The one thing I regret is not having Vic sign my copy of Sons Of Sampson II... there is a photo of Vic in his younger days; he was an impressive looking bodybuilder.

People... if you can attend this AOBS, please do! You will not regret it, and the memories will last a lifetime!! ;)
