Guest throw
i have closed the #3 several times unofficialy but my last few workouts have been horrible. I train once a week on grippers. And i don't feel i am overtrained but, would it be a good idea to take a a few weeks off?
Guest Jeff0
Maybe do the opposite Try greasing the groove! I was stuck at 1/4 and the approach has gotten me down to here: Original GTG article: http://www.dragondoor.com/cgi-bin/articles...e2&articleid=69 I've been doing it with my Inch practice too, but not long enough to tell if it's working. The principle seems neurologically sound. Try it: Only touch the 3 once every 10 days or longer. The rest of the time, keep a gripper you can close with respectable-but-not-maximal effort with you and squeeze it randomly. I can close a 2 once without much strain. I have one at home and one in the car/at work. Every time I pass the kitchen counter I mash the 2 once, left and right. Every time I enter or leave my office at work I mash the 2 once, left and right. Every time I stop at a stoplight I mash the 2 once, left and right. I close it dozens of times a day, but because it's not very hard and is not performed to exhaustion, I don't get fatigued. Still, the nervous pathway is reinforced. My brother is working on the #2, and I have him do the same with his trainer. (tough trainer btw, close to my #1) It's very different from the every-other-day max attempt workouts I was doing before, but it's worked so far. OldGuy
Taking off two weeks has always helped me when in your situation. Edited December 3, 2002 by OldGuy
Cunny
JeffO This is something I have been thinking of trying after reading in Brookfields book that most of the manual workers have strong hands from regular and probably high volume work. How many times approx could you close #2 ? I can close my T around 26 times #1 around 8 but not the #2 yet do you think 10 reps about 10 times a day on the T about right for me? Has anyone else heard of success with this High volume throughout the day approach How many times a week is this type of routine used Thanks Cunny
