Guest rockblaster
In, deadlifting,I currently use the french grip (knuckles forward) but I also use the reverse grip for heavier weights. Does the reverse grip work the grip effectively?
OldGuy
You are presumably lifting more weight with the one hand over one hand under technique. I would say that any kind of deadlifting done without straps benefits the grip.
Guest rockblaster
I agree, OldGuy. I am using a 2" diameter bar and I use no supportive gear whatsoever in any of my workouts. And yes, I am using more weight with the reverse grip than with the french grip. I like the french grip--it's just that the bar rolls around in my hands at heavier weights. ChrisJames
Rockblaster, Why don't you incorparate both in your workout, go as far as you can with the french grip then switch to the reverse style. This way your covering all angles. They are both very effective exercises.
