I've managed to split a raw potato in half and it takes me about 5-7minutes so I voted for no.  I've done this on two occasions...I'm thinking about attempting this stunt every weekend.

I've worked on one for nearly 30 min.  It got softer, but actually causeing that sucker to burst is not yet a reality.

David " Gorilla Hand" Erives technique was to push the fingers into the potato (he also said that to perform the feat you had to be able to close the #1 with the tip of your fingers) cutting it in two and then crush the halves in your hand (he thought you had at least to be able to close the #2 with two digits to perform that). I found this information in an old thread, but can't remember where  ???

It's near the beginning of the faq section Amaury.  Interestingly I have found the pressure isn't so much on my fingertips but it is tremendous on the first joint!!

How about an egg?  The last time I tried was probably in middle school, but if your hand encloses the entire egg you can't break it because of the equal pressure from all sides... right?  Like I said, I haven't tried for a while.

Never tried a potato.

The invincible egg trick is for the non-strength trainer.  A hard-boiled egg stumped three guys at breakfast a few months ago, so they gave it to me.  It exploded easily with a satisfying “pop”.

"The potato experience" is different.  I didn’t even try it with the finger tips, but instead used a pure crush motion and broke a pretty serious sweat in the attempt.  The #3 gripper, ok.  Cleaning the Inch, yea.  Blowing up a potato with a bare hand, WOW! :crazy

Bender,

Try driving your fingers through the potato and splitting it in half first before giving it the crush.  I bet once you've split it you could give it a real go!!
