Tom of Iowa2
John, Just curious.Have YOU ever done the Rolling Thunder? And what was your best lift? What about Big TONY?have you talked to him about trying the Millenium? Tony -HAS Done a FULL deadlift of the 172 INCH and has done a Rolling Thunder with 255. Both photos are on the web somewhere......Just curious...I would like to see the old dude do it myself But if Schoony gets it that is great also......... Josh is planning on giving the 172 and IF that goes the Millenium also. $10 sounds like a very reasonable 'entry fee'/donation to try the bells. I'd like to get the little one and then try the 172 -just for yucks and giggles......
Tom of Iowa2
Also... What is the thickness of your 'Fat Bastard'dumbell handles? How much are they going to sell for? Olympic plates?or conventional plates? Thanks
Guest Harlan Jacobs
Hey John. Good to see you on the board.Be sure and point out Karlson's log lift to Big Shawn. Are you guys doing the Ben and Jerry's still ? Roark- No I won't be going , But I will say right now that I will be surprised if Schoonie don't get some air time on the bell. John Beatty
To Tom & Harlan- Tom- the Fat Bastard Barbell Company will (barring unexpected delay)kick off at the Snowman. We'll hopefully have a full set or two available for sale. Sizes: 2", 2 1/2", and 3" handles. Olympic plates only at this time, but we may do exercise plates later. Fat Bastard t's will also be available at the Snowman. Up to XXXXL. Pricing - the aim is to keep all Fat Bastard products reasonably priced. DB's will be tentatively priced at $75 per pair or $200 for all three sets. T shirts will be $12. As to my Rolling Thunder, Ihaven't played with it in a while, but my best was 190 with a 12 second hold. Harlan- The Ben & Jerry's bet still goes on. I plan to take at least 1 pint off Shawn at the Snowman. He told me tonight he was going to beat me in the dead. Even if he does (which I don't think he will, but you never know), I think I've got him in the Tire, Stones & Herc Hold. I trained Stones on Friday & got all 5 in 24 seconds. 4 & 5 to a 51" platform. I'm going to see if I can get anyone to bring a 420. I'm feeling pretty good about my chances. Maybe being the lightest guy to get the 420 will be a claim to fame..lol. Guest Harlan Jacobs
Shawn beat you in deads ??????????? Come on ! There are not many guys that could make that statement in strongman period. Let's see, Tire, deads, herc hold, and stones. Looks like plenty of ice cream for a while. I don't think I would mess with the big guy in pressing ! To bad you are not going to have 2 inch bells there. I would like to see if Shawn could press 2 of them if they where handed to him. I bet he could. Tell Shawn I said hey. Tom of Iowa2
Thanks John. Olympic Plates are good!!!Thats all i have access to.Only our preloaded 'thin handled'dumbells use the exercise plates. Those(your) prices sound reasonable. I'll try to talk the gym owner into buying the 'trivecta' Sometimes she listens sometimes I get ignored......I've already been working on her to get the new grip machine from Sorin... Was only wondering about your 'Thunder' lift cause i think all i'll get off the floor is the 152....'they'say a 220/225# on the Thunder converts into a very good shot at the 172.... and I won't be there(220/225#) by January.... What sort of a deadlift will Your contest have? !6 inch? 18 inch? or off the floor? Harlan, I think You are correct. If someone could hand 2 , 172 INCHES to Shawn...he's be able to press them both... Of course his press is AWESOME,and probably better now then it was last year- but i bet you he's brought up his grip strength too....
