Good Weight For Farmer's Walk

I just got 2 inch dumbbells from fbbc. I'm curious to know what is a good weight to start off with for farmer's walk

I can lift a blob 35 lefty and righty. I can close a #1 too, and I levered a 8lb sledgehammer from the bottom just recently.

I may not be asking for a weight per say, but when I pick up the weight do I want to be like it may slip out of my hand at any moment? Or am I striving to get a weight that I feel I can hold on for a minute or so?

Another silly question.... should I go by time or by distance walked?

You're a beginner, dude. Almost anything will work for you, so I'm not going to get too fancy. Just go with this:

Load the dumbbells to a weight that feels "medium heavy". Start walking with them. Go till you can't hold them any more. Rest. Pick them up again. Repeat.
